Fiserv, a global leader in payments and financial technology, has a strong commitment to the military community. This commitment is embodied by the Fiserv Salutes program through which Fiserv provides the military community with career opportunities, educational resources and business solutions.

While navigating life in the U.S. Air Force, Missy Lawson quickly learned that trust is essential. Missy now serves as SVP of Information Technology at Fiserv – a global fintech and payments company that’s committed to earning clients’ trust every day. Such trust originates from within – between leaders and their teams and among colleagues across the organization. At Fiserv, this trust is vital to its success and growth as a company, and Missy says that’s true of her time in the military as well.

“Without trust, the fabric of teamwork erodes, and your mission, no matter how large or small, is at greater risk of failure. As a leader, you have to be able to trust that not only can you count on those in your charge to perform at the best of their abilities, but they also feel the freedom to ask questions, challenge ideas and ask for help when needed.”

In an effort to build trust and community among its associates, Fiserv offers programs and initiatives that foster awareness and create connections across communities, including its network of military-affiliated associates and their families.

“Our employee resource groups at Fiserv, including the Military Leadership Council, provide a common ground for our associates with a shared background to connect and apply the skills we learned during military service to a multitude of positions within the company. Fiserv provides support to our military members from enlistment to separation and beyond,” says Vivian Greentree, SVP and Head of Global Corporate Citizenship at Fiserv and a Navy veteran.

Fiserv appreciates the unique talents and skillsets held by those in the military community and is committed to supporting their professional growth, which includes taking active steps to attract and retain top talent from this community.

Kenny Tang, Cybersecurity Analyst at Fiserv and Army veteran, is especially appreciative of how the company helps veterans to adapt to life outside the military and grow in their careers.

“Fiserv provides all the necessary tools for a transitioning veteran to succeed in the civilian world. The Military Technology Analyst Program is also amazing because it gives transitioning veterans an opportunity to enter the technology field.”

The Fiserv Military Analyst Program offers recently graduated student veterans with less than three years of professional work experience and less than eight years of military service the opportunity to experience a two-year rotational development program within a given business function, as well executive exposure and mentorship.

Brad Vance, Print Manager at Fiserv and U.S. Marine Corps veteran, agrees the program provides significant opportunity, saying that “Fiserv honors our service” by offering programs that help to strengthen and expand on the skills learned in the military so veterans can be workplace leaders.

While the adjustment to civilian life from the military can be quite overwhelming, Fiserv associates like Larry Goley, Embossing Supervisor and Army veteran, credits his time in the military with the leadership, resiliency and perseverance he exhibits in his role at Fiserv.

For Larry, a commitment to “never quit” paired with the engaged efforts and dedicated support of Fiserv will take him and his fellow veterans far in whatever they wish to pursue.

As part of the Fiserv strategy to optimize efficiency among its teams, the company promotes an in-office culture with hybrid schedules, keeping flexibility top of mind. Fiserv offers modern workspaces that accelerate this collaboration, including our recently opened Innovation Center @ The Park in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey – a 428,000-square-foot technology hub preparing to welcome additional associates in 2023. The company’s sites in Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska are also growing with immediate openings. Career opportunities include software development, project management, implementations, data analytics, call center and production operations.
